THE FOLK STORE ETHOSTHE FOLK STORE ETHOS

The Folk Store was set up and opened by the team at Mrs Casey Music to be a ‘one stop shop’ for all things folk. We have sold tickets for festivals, T-shirts and hoodies, CDs, DVDs, books and instruments. Thank you to all who have shopped with us; no - we’re not closing, just changing.

The aggressive competitive world of CD sales has overcome our policy of offering a top quality product at a fair price by mail order. We will carry some stock and you can see that here. We will also be the best price shop for our own label stock - Mrs Casey Records and continue to release new CDs on a regular basis - so keep an eye out for those.

Now the future lies in supporting the acoustic and live music scene and the customers in it by selling festival tickets, merchandise like T-shirts, hoodies, bags, greetings cards etc. and offering a first class, secure site for the transactions. We will also be the place for you to become a member of the Association of Festival Organisers and to buy your delegate places for the Folk Industry and AFO Conference.

Most of all we will continue to lobby and support those singers, musicians, promoters and of course supporters of the UK acoustic music scene. If you see a product that you think links to our store and you want to purchase then drop us a line, folkstore@mrscasey.co.uk, we will see what we can do to help. If you are a festival or event organiser perhaps we can make your tickets available to a wider audience – get in touch.

As they gew in confidence and dexterity, Martin & Dave tested themselves with tricky rhythms and challenging songs, and the title track electrified the folk scene with its audacious syncopation. The album was most carefully planned and executed and remains an outstanding achievement.
