‘Thirty Years of Conflict’ examines the experiences of musicians during three decades of sectarian conflict in Northern Ireland. Until 1975 musicians could travel safely in their role as non-partisan entertainers, but the killing of the Miami Showband in that year ended that. Thirty years on, this Ballad examines how two drums representing the different religious traditions in Ulster are being used to bring communities together, and features very personal and emotional stories of the horrors of sectarian conflict, illustrated with beautifully written songs.
